I enjoyed the first Land Stand game by Con Artists tremendously. It was an exciting game that kept you motivated even after finishing it for the first time. The player was one of the last survivors of a virus outbreak that turned most humans and animals into Zombies. He had to hold out for twenty days in his location searching for other survivors and weapons at day and fighting zombies at night.
The Last Stand 2 puts you in the role of a helicopter crash survivor who has to reach Union City to get of the land before it is being sealed of by the armed forces. This is actually one of the biggest changes in the second part. You have to move the character through various locations to be able to reach Union City in time.
The controls of the game have remained the same. WASD moves the character behind the barricades, R reloads the gun and space swaps it and the Left Mouse button shoots a bullet.
The second big change becomes obvious when you defeat the zombie attack in the first night. Instead of dividing your available 12 hours into searching for survivors, weapons and repairing the barricades you now select locations on a map that you want to search.
So basically there are only two possibilities during the day: search buildings or repair the barricades. The second is not that important anymore because when you move you leave the barricade behind.
Supplies can be found as well and are important for your travels. You can only begin traveling to a new location if you have enough supplies to survive the trip.
Several new elements have been introduced to the combat phase at night as well. A maximum of four survivors stand at your side and defend the barricades. They start with a week handgun and you can hand them guns that you find to make them more powerful. Several new guns can be found, for example a bow and hand grenades.
The zombies however are sometimes equipped with crude weapons as well and if they manage to get near one of the survivors they can kill them with their weapons.
The last change involves traps that can be found throughout the day. These traps, like bear traps or gas canisters, can be placed on the battlefield and it keeps some of the zombies occupied for some time.
Each location provides a different setting from farm land to a church. The strength of the barricades differ throughout the game and tend to be weaker the farer you travel.

I think that 8.3 megs is a way too much for a browser game
Where the old good standalone ones?…
Ah well, they soon will reach the 50-100 MB mark I guess.
Are they crazy?
OpenArena is still fine for me
yeah that’s a nice free game. Played it for a while
