Ninjas! Who would not want to be one of those bad ass stealthy assassins ? Know you can be one if you play the game Ninja Hunter. It’s not your usual ninja jump and run though, it’s a typing game. Yes that’s right, you have to type to fend of attacking ninjas.
To make matters more interesting different types of enemies with unique abilities attack the temple. You got the runners that do nothing else than to charge straight ahead, the shuriken throwers that can hurt you if you are not fast enough, the flash powder ninjas that blank the screen for a second or two, riding ninjas that are fast and deadly and wizards who create mirror images of themselves.
Each stage ends with a boss fight which normally means pressing a series of buttons. If the player fails to press the buttons in the time the temple will be damaged and that is how my temple was lost after the fifths stage in my first game. The game thankfully lets the player start at the stage again and I was able to beat it easily after understanding what I had to do during the boss fight.
The player builds rage with each defeated enemy that gives him access to special powers like slowing enemies or reducing the damage that they do.
It’s an interesting game, not that challenging but it looks well done and plays nicely. Becomes a bit boring after a few stages though.
Want a surprisingly simple but yet addictive game ? Typeracer is a multiplayer game that is played in the web browser. In it you race against other players with your car from the start to the finish line. How do you race you ask ? Well, not with the arrow keys.
You race by typing in the words of a paragraph that is displayed below the race, hence the name Typeracer. The race normally consists of two to four sentences that have to be typed word by word. The wpm - word per minute - score of every player is constantly updated and the progress is also visible by the moving cars.
The maximum number of players that I raced against was six but I’m not sure if that is the maximum. A wpm score of 50 to 60 usually gives you a good chance of winning the game.
Your skill level is displayed in the top right corner, it does change after each race that you drive. It is possible to contribute quotes to the game and practice alone before you race against other players.
